A public record in the state of New Mexico is defined, and governed, under the Information of Public Request Act or IPRA.

IPRA laws defined in New Mexico State statue are overseen by the Attorney Generals office.

Information may be requested by the public. The request must describe the records sought in sufficient detail to enable the Records Custodian to identify and locate the requested records.
